Instructions:

1. Using Paper Cutter, score 12” x 5 ½” Mellow Moss CS at 4 ¼”, 6” and 7 ¾”.
2. Fold card in a “W” pattern. Line underside of card at folds with Sticky Tape in a “I____I” pattern. NOTE: See example to verify you are gluing properly.
3. Use pencil to slightly mark ¼” in on sides of flap. Line up outside BLACK edge of Word Window Punch on mark on left side and punch only half way in. Repeat on right side. Use ¾” Circle Punch to punch a half circle on edge in middle of flap.
4. Wheel front and inside of gift card with Textured Jumbo Wheel and Mellow Moss Ink Cartridge [in wheel]. NOTE: Wheel on either side of the flap.
5. Stamp saying on 2 ¼”x 2” Whisper White CS. Layer on 2 ½” x 2 ¼” Chocolate Chip CS. Adhere inside.
6. SNAIL ribbon and wrap around card.
7. Ink “Pine tree” in Mellow Moss Ink. Use Blender Pen to “brush off” trunk and ground. Ink trunk and ground with Chocolate Chip Marker. Stamp onto Whisper White CS.
8. Layer main image onto Chocolate Chip CS and then onto Always Artichoke CS. Adhere with Dimensionals.
9. Use Wide Oval Punch to punch an oval out of scrap Chocolate Chip CS.
10. Ink “Christmas” with Chocolate Chip Marker. Stamp on scrap Whisper White CS. Use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to image “Merry” OVER “Christmas” with marker. Punch with Designer Label Punch. Adhere to oval and main image.
11. Tie ribbon.

Simple Cardinal Christmas, Petals-A-Plenty Embossing Folder & Shimmer Spray

Hi Stampers -- I have as of late been obsessed with the Petals-A-Plenty embossing folder from the 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog on page 21.  It is what makes those fun little poinsetta flowers around the image of my cardinal.  Oh....so....fun!  I have seen many takes on how obtain the oval void in the card front.  I made an oval template out of my husband's disgarded comic book backboards.  It took a while to cut, and, though I am pleased with my inginuity, I decided that it was not the best way to get this look.  My favorite tutorial on this technique is done by Patty Bennett.  She does it with a thin wooden template.  Go check it out!  I went out and bought my own for $1.19!  Big spender...I know!

Another favorite new "toy" is Shimmer Paint!  Oh my...if you haven't tried this fabulous new bling for your creations, you don't know what you are missing!  Shimmery is the key word.  LOVE IT!  At the Portland, Maine SU! Regional, I saw Shimmer Spray for the first time.  One of the demonstrators had done this technique on her cards, and I just fell in love with it!  She was kind enough to give me a quick rundown on how to acheive this SHIMMERY look.  [I know it is hard to see on the card, but trust me it is there!]

HOW TO MAKE SHIMMER SPRAY

• 
  
  Simply take Hydrogen Peroxide and a small spray bottle. 
  
  
  
• 
  
  Fill the spray bottle with the Hydrogen Peroxide.
  
  
  
• 
  
  Dip the sprayer tube in the Shimmer Paint and then into the peroxide 5 or 6 times until the peroxide is shimmery.
  
  
  
• 
  
  Spray your cardstock and let dry for 5-10 minutes.  DONE!

Lovely As A Tree Matted Card

Last year's Stamp-A-Stack included this fabulous card, too!  I love the matted snowflakes behind the tree!  So, pretty!  O.K., so I got the idea for this card off Beate John's blog last year.  She credits her inspiration from Julie Buhler's card.  Both ladies have fabulous blogs and ideas!

Comments: Fold Whisper White CS in half. Adhere Handsome Hunter CS to the card front. Lay the ¾” Border Template that I made over the Kraft CS and wheel with the Snowflakes. Then, sponge with White Craft ink in the center and remove template when done. Ink the tree with Handsome Hunter Classic ink and use a Blender Pen and Chocolate Chip Ink Pad to color over the stem. Stamp it on the right hand side of the rectangle. Stamp “Merry Christmas” in Chocolate Chip by using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help you line it up. Using the Paper Piercing Tool, Guide and Mat from the Crafter’s Tool Kit, pierce a border around the white rectangle. Layer onto Chocolate Chip CS. From provided scrap CS, punch 1” Chocolate Chip circle and SNAIL to the upper left hand side. Using the Cropodile punch 3/16” hole and set a Jumbo Eyelet. Tie your White Taffeta Ribbon through the hole and adhere layer to card with SNAIL.

Brag Book Album - In Memorium

The Manhattan Flowers stamp set coupled with a saying from the Refuge and Strength stamp set are what I used to make this Brag Book Album.  I have posted brag books before, so Click Here to view them. if you want to see some different designs and directions.

If you are wondering what I put inside this one, it is full of pictures of someone dear to my family...Great Grandma Emily.  She was my husband's "adopted Canadian grandmother" and she passed away recently after living a wonderful life.  Long story short, but she and her husband ended up being just like grandparents to Erik while he was attending high school at Grenville Christian College.  Hence, she was given a special coursage and escorted down the aisle to a special seat at our wedding over eight years ago; we had the chance to visit with her and introduce her to our children on two seperate occassions in Canada; and, today we celebrate her life in memorial.  I didn't know her for too long, but she was a dear woman and I am sure she is in Heaven with the Lord today!

O.K., at any rate, Erik is off to the memorial today and asked me to pull together some pictures of our Canada trips for Emily's children.  So, that is why I made the Brag Books.  I hope they speak comfort to her family.  It was a blessing to know her!

Check this out! I saw this idea a while ago and decided that I must, must, must expand it! I used the Big Shot and punches EXTENSIVELY with all of these cards and they were tons of fun to make. Ernie and Burt had the most free hand cutting. My personal favorites are Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo probably because they are the quickest and easiest to make [you know me with simple, quick and easy]. Big Bird is also fun!

The inside of these cards are what I love the most! I used the stamp set "Just B'' and stamped "B" "is for Birthday"! How cute is that! LOVE IT!

SAB 3x6" Die-cut DSP Card - Congrats Tutorial

Another SAB creation that I thought you might like. If you don't have these sets or papers, just use the layout and other stamp sets! This card is 3x6" on Stampin' Up!s Textured Sahara Sand CS. FABULOUS! It also utilizes the Big Shot [my favorite tool, right now, next to the punches] with the "Flower Burst" Embosslit and "Little Leaves" Sizzlit. I absolutely adore these two little dies. So stinkin' cute!!!

I also used the sponging technique with the "negative" from the Little Leaves die-cut to decorate the background of the left front and bottom right of the inside of the card. Use the Stampin' Sponges and Certainly Celery Ink. Super easy and very fun!

• Fold Sahara Sand CS in half.
• Die cut the following with the Multi -Purpose Platform on Tab #1, the Cutting Pads and the Big Shot : *The “Little Leaves” Sizzlit and Certainly Celery CS & *The “Flower Burst” Embosslit folder and So Saffron CS.
• Pop the “leaves” out and use the negative to sponge some leaves on the LEFT side of the DSP and the bottom RIGHT of the inside of the card in Certainly Celery Ink.
• Stamp “polka dot burst” image onto scrap Bashful Blue CS in Bashful Blue Ink. Punch out with 1¼” Circle Punch. Punch center with 1/8” Circle Punch and insert blue Rhinestone Brad.

Sale-A-Bration Aftermath

HAPPY SPRING! It is here. The birds are chirping and eating my bird feeder empty every three days. The stream out back is full and running. The crocuses are peeking out from the ground! We had a 61 degree sunny afternoon yesterday that willed us to be outside without coats, hats and mittens, and the kids and I actually did some planting! We went for an after dinner walk to view the pond and visit the farm up in back of us. It was a lovely day! And with all of that, believe it or not, we STILL have some snow on our property! I hope it melts soon so we can clean up from the winter ice storm. We have sticks, trees and branches everywhere!

Belated Valentine

I know it is late to show you this project, but I wanted to anyway. :-) I made this super cute Valentine for the kids in my daughter's kindergarten class. [Yes, they were on time. My post just wasn't.] She helped! We had such fun using the Big Shot, punching the hearts out, and stamping the little birds. Very easy to do.

Tip: Just put the crease of your cardstock a little below the top of the Top Note die and crank away. You will end up with a fancy shaped card. Woohoo!

Bella's Bloom

Bella's Bloom is a wonderful little stamp set that I totally overlooked in the last catalog. I think it is just darling.

Top Note Love You Much Bird Card

Don't ask me why, but in the midst of everything going on I decided it was high time I invested in on of those All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Photo/Copier machines. Soooo, I was playing with it after setting it up and scanned in some creations. I am so excited! This is going to take no time to scan, crop and blog for you! Sooooo excited! Woohoo!

For this card, I used the Love You Much Bundle [Candy Lane DSP, Heart To Heart Punch and Love You Much Stamp Set] to create it in conjunction with the Top Note Die and the Big Shot [can't get enough of that!]. The birds are actually on the DSP and I die-cut them! How simple and easy! Add a little ribbon, stamp and punch a few hearts, and VOILA! ... A fabulous card to send off to your loved one!

Poinsettia Punch Card

Poinsettia plants remind me of my grandmother, Grammy Nash. She was fabulous! And she loved Christmas time and the real reason for the holiday. She was a wonderful lady, and I still miss her. She went to the Lord in 1986, but I still think of her often. Her impact on my life was significant and I look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Merry Christmas, Grammy!

This card is not a traditional poinsettia, but I like it's simplicity. This was one of the Stamp-A-Stack favorites for my attendees. It uses the 5-Petal Flower Punch to make the poinsettia!

Comments: Fold the Old Olive CS in half and adhere the DSP at the bottom of the card using SNAIL. Tie your ribbon. Stamp “Holiday Greetings” in Real Red Ink near the top. Punch two Real Red flowers with the 5-Petal Flower Punch. Crease the petals of one flower, scuff with Real Red Ink, layer flowers and adhere to bottom right of DSP. Punch three 1/8” circles from Barely Banana CS. [Open the paper catcher on the punch to retrieve your dots.] Roll up a Mini Glue Dot for each circle and adhere to flower.

Christmas Wreath

Brrrr.....it is cold and snowing outside. Very beautiful! My family, as well as many others in my area, are still without power from last weeks ice storm. We are praying that our pipes hold out and DO NOT freeze. This is day SIX without power. All is well, but I didn't count on losing a full week just before Christmas. Much to do! Much to do! And, it is hard to stamp and scrapbook in the dark. :-(

Comments: Fold your Riding Hood Red CS. With Mellow Moss Ink on Whisper White CS, stamp the “solid flower stamp” to create the wreath. Then, stamp the “lined flower” image using Always Artichoke ink and the “dot” using Riding Hood Red Ink. Create your bow and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot. Adhere the stamped layer to the Always Artichoke CS using SNAIL adhesive. Then, adhere that to gift card front. Stamp ”Merry Christmas” using Whisper White Ink on Chocolate Chip CS. Punch out with the Wide Oval Punch. Using the Paper Piercing Tool and Mat, pierce holes in your oval. Adhere with Dimensionals. Gently add Crystal Effects to the “berries” on the wreath. Allow to dry.

Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

Comments: Fold the Close To Cocoa CS in half. On Chocolate Chip CS stamp “pine bough” in bottom left corner with VersaMark ink. Stamp “Season‘s Greetings” in Encore! Gold just over “pine bough” by using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help you line it up. [Line the glossy side of the imaging sheet UP in the corner of the SAMJ. Ink your stamp and line it up in the corner or the SAMJ. Take your stamped imaging sheet and place it where you want the image on your card. Place the SAMJ in the corner. Carefully remove the imaging sheet and stamp your inked stamp. So slick!]. Adhere DSP to gift card using SNAIL. Adhere Choc. Chip CS [There WILL be a gap between the DSP and the Choc. Chip.] On Old Olive CS mark three holes with pencil and punch using the 1/16“ Circle Punch. Add brads. Adhere Old Olive strip to the card with SNAIL.

Chunky Glitter BIG SHOT Snowflakes Card

HAPPY DECEMBER EVERYONE! My family is back from Texas where we enjoyed 70 degree weather and sunny days playing outside on vacation [hence the long time between posts]. Thanksgiving is over and so is November. Christmas is coming, and I am dreaming of a white one!

O.K. I admit it...can you tell?.... I am officially ready for SNOW! I love this card because it looks like a wonderfully, beautiful snowy day at home to me. Enjoy the tutorial!

Comments: Fold the Whisper White CS gift card. Adhere Night of Navy CS to card front. Using Watercolor Wonder Crayons color streaks across the Watercolor Paper from top to bottom: Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, Brocade Blue, Ballet Blue, Night of Navy. Blend colors with the Aquapainter. Allow to dry. [This paper will curl up when wet, but will dry flat.] Die-cut SIX small snowflakes [2 Night of Navy, 4 Whisper White]. [See directions at BIG SHOT station]. Adhere the Watercolor Paper to the card front. Adhere the white snowflakes with one Mini Glue Dot each. Adhere other snowflakes to top. Ink “A very merry…” by brushing Night of Navy Marker across the image and stamp on provided scrap Whisper White CS. Punch out with the Scalloped Square Punch. Trim with Paper Snips and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Place card in Powder Pal® tray. Apply 2-Way Glue in swirls to card front and across some of your snowflakes. Cover with glitter, then tap the card stock firmly to remove excess glitter. Pour glitter into jar.

Die-cut "JOY" Card...In Transition

"Why aren't we making that!?!" Is the comment I got when I showed this to the Stamp-A-Stack participants. Umm....."I couldn't simplify it for reproduction or explain it very well?" Sigh....you see I am visual learner and writing the directions for my classes is the toughest job for me. I try so hard to make things easy for everyone and having the directions is a must. BUT....it is a pain! I just could not explain this one [the second card, not the first], because, while very beautiful, the measurements for a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card just don't quite fit the Pennant Die. So, there is bit of finagling and THAT was the difficult part to explain. I can show you, but that did not fly for the Stamp-A-Stack. That and my brain stopped working after a while what with writing up directions for TEN cards! Oh and the S-A-S cards needed to be easy to replicate and fairly quick, since everyone was making ten DIFFERENT cards. So, I ended up with several versions until I ended up with a simplified EXPLAINABLE version that is a little bit like the first.

Here are the others. You can see my transition to the final version, which is the last "JOY" card with the peek-a-boo snowmen. The third card almost was the one we did, but my dear fabulous husband crinkled his nose at the colors. I told him that it was the one and I liked it, but the next morning my nose crinkled....Sigh....I went back to the drawing board. But, not empty handed. He did like the peek-a-boo snowmen and actually came up with the idea for them to be on the INSIDE of the card! Thanks, Tup!

Comments: Fold the Very Vanilla CS in half. Tie a knot in the Red Riding Hood Grosgrain Ribbon and adhere to Kraft CS with SNAIL by tucking the ribbon over the edges and SNAILing to the back of Kraft CS. Adhere Kraft CS to card front. Line up and punch an oval with the Wide Oval Punch [All the way in and ½” from the right hand side. Use two hands…this may be tough]. Open your card and stamp snowflakes around oval: Large - Baja Breeze Ink, medium - Kiwi Kiss Ink, small - Riding Hood Red. Die cut “JOY” with the Big Shot and adhere with SNAIL. [See directions at Big Shot station.] Adhere “JOY” with SNAIL to bottom left of card. Lightly trace the oval “window” with a pencil. Open the card, line up the snowmen over the traced oval, and stamp with Close To Cocoa Ink.

Birthday For A Tweenage Girl

Sunday is my neice's 11th birthday, so I made this special card to go with her gift. I hope she likes it. I am really pleased with the result! I used paper piercing to accent the Wide Oval and a little Crystal Effects to make the balloons POP! On the inside of the card [not pictured], I used several alphabet and number sets to write a sentiment for her.
