Lovely As A Tree Matted Card

Last year's Stamp-A-Stack included this fabulous card, too!  I love the matted snowflakes behind the tree!  So, pretty!  O.K., so I got the idea for this card off Beate John's blog last year.  She credits her inspiration from Julie Buhler's card.  Both ladies have fabulous blogs and ideas!

Comments: Fold Whisper White CS in half. Adhere Handsome Hunter CS to the card front. Lay the ¾” Border Template that I made over the Kraft CS and wheel with the Snowflakes. Then, sponge with White Craft ink in the center and remove template when done. Ink the tree with Handsome Hunter Classic ink and use a Blender Pen and Chocolate Chip Ink Pad to color over the stem. Stamp it on the right hand side of the rectangle. Stamp “Merry Christmas” in Chocolate Chip by using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help you line it up. Using the Paper Piercing Tool, Guide and Mat from the Crafter’s Tool Kit, pierce a border around the white rectangle. Layer onto Chocolate Chip CS. From provided scrap CS, punch 1” Chocolate Chip circle and SNAIL to the upper left hand side. Using the Cropodile punch 3/16” hole and set a Jumbo Eyelet. Tie your White Taffeta Ribbon through the hole and adhere layer to card with SNAIL.

Where in the world have I been? CONVENTION!!!

Well, THIS is a very good question! I have been out of control busy [as many are these days] and something had to give for a while. [I won't bore you with the details.] But, I will say that I am soooooo pumped as I come back from Convention in Salt Lake City, UT! Woooweee, what a FABULOUS few days! There is nothing that touches the energy of 3,000 screaming, excited stampers in one room! What a complete rush and overwhelming [in a good way] experience!

Man alive! If you have ever wanted more access to creative energy, swaps, ideas and stamping tips, you have GOT to become a demonstrator even if it is just so you can attend Convention! WHAT A BLAST! Big Shot FRANKIE Z-Fold Card

Hi All! We are not much in to Halloween around my house, but I COULD NOT RESIST "Frankie". Isn't he soooo stinkin' cute!?!

I make absolutely no claim to this idea. If you look on http://www.splitcoaststamper.com/ and search Frankie, you will find a whole bunch of versions. I combined many of those and made slight variations to make mine. We did this card at my recent Stamp Camp and everyone LOVED it!!!


INSTRUCTIONS:

• Fold the Pumpkin Pie card stock in half, using the bone folder to get a sharp crease. Then, fold back one side to make the “z-fold card.” Adhere Basic Black card stock on either side of the center fold.
• Stamp “Happy Halloween” on the bottom of the z-fold side with Whisper White Craft Ink. Let dry.
• Punching out your pieces… A) Use the Big Shot Machine and the Top Note Die to die-cut one and a half Top Notes: Lovely Lilac 2.5x5” and Green Galore 4x5“. B) Punch TWO 1 ¼” Whisper White circles. C) Punch TWO 1” Basic Black circles. D) Punch ONE 1-3/8” Green Galore Circle. E) Punch ONE Green Galore Large Oval.
• Putting “Frankie” together: A) Cut his hair using the Paper Snips. With Lovely Lilac Ink, stamp “dots” all over hair. Adhere, leaving the bangs without any SNAIL on them. B) Eyes…Adhere Basic Black circles to Whisper White and using the Singo White Gel Pen add two lines to eyes. Cut Green Galore circle in half, ink with Green Galore ink pad and adhere as eyelids. Adhere entire eye underneath bangs. C) Nose…Cut the Green Galore large oval in half and then a bit on the sides. Adhere askew. D) Add stitches with journaling tip of Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
• Adhere Frankie to the top of card. Make sure the z-fold is under his face, not his hair to allow the card to open and shut.

Another Father's Day Card

Well, leave it to me to make Father's Day cards for my dads and forget to make one for my husband! DUH!

Here is the story....we had a fabulous weekend! Tupper wanted to go down to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut to see Nelson put on a free concert in the Wolf's Den. This is the forth time we've seen them perform, but it was the first time in seventeen years for the band to play together! It was a blast! At any rate, my mother-in-law watched the kiddos [Thank you, Sherry!] and we made the drive back to her house after the concert. Soooo, on Father's Day morning I was up early with the kids and realized that I hadn't made a card! Ugh....I dug around in Sherry's Stampin' stuff and came up with this design. Not bad, I think! The kids helped with the wheeling, Erilynne used the Aquapainter to color the stars, and they both signed and personalized the inside of their cards for their Dada. It was fun AND we even got the two cards done before "Dada" woke up :-) I was pleased!
