Brag Book Album - In Memorium

The Manhattan Flowers stamp set coupled with a saying from the Refuge and Strength stamp set are what I used to make this Brag Book Album.  I have posted brag books before, so Click Here to view them. if you want to see some different designs and directions.

If you are wondering what I put inside this one, it is full of pictures of someone dear to my family...Great Grandma Emily.  She was my husband's "adopted Canadian grandmother" and she passed away recently after living a wonderful life.  Long story short, but she and her husband ended up being just like grandparents to Erik while he was attending high school at Grenville Christian College.  Hence, she was given a special coursage and escorted down the aisle to a special seat at our wedding over eight years ago; we had the chance to visit with her and introduce her to our children on two seperate occassions in Canada; and, today we celebrate her life in memorial.  I didn't know her for too long, but she was a dear woman and I am sure she is in Heaven with the Lord today!

O.K., at any rate, Erik is off to the memorial today and asked me to pull together some pictures of our Canada trips for Emily's children.  So, that is why I made the Brag Books.  I hope they speak comfort to her family.  It was a blessing to know her!

Thanks Birdie Card - Dry Embossing with SU!'s Texturz Plates

Fun & Fast Notes is really such a versitale stamp set, but rarely do I stamp with it!  I really should change that up!

Not sure if you can see it or not, but the Basic Black CS is dry embossed with SU!'s Flower Texturz Plate [one of many].  Here is a tip to getting a super good impression.  Ready?  I learned this at Convention!  Wait for it.....

Spritz the CS with a bit of water BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot and the impression will come out super clean and extra deep!  "Water!?!  Seriously?  That is the big secret?"  Yes, indeed-ee-do!  Give it a go!

1. Fold your Whisper White CS in half and crease with the Bone Folder.
2. Use the Flower Texturz Plate to Dry Emboss “simple flowers” on the Basic Black CS with the Big Shot. Build your “Big Shot Sandwich” from bottom to top as follows: Multipurpose Platform on TAB 1, Textured Plate, Basic Black CS, Silicone Rubber and Impressions Pad. Adhere to gift card.
3. Stamp “birdie” in Black Staz On Ink onto Whisper White CS. Clean stamp with Staz On Cleaner.
4. Color in the “birdie” image with the following Stampin’ Write Markers:
        • Flower – Bermuda Bay, Stem – Old Olive, Bird – Crushed Curry, Beak & Feet – Pumpkin Pie
5. Layer onto Bermuda Bay CS.
6. Punch the flower center with the 1/16” Circle Punch and insert an Earth Elements Brad – More Mustard. Adhere to Old Olive CS with three Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adhere to gift card.
7. SNAIL, fold in half & trim a 2½” piece of Black Gingham Ribbon. Adhere under Bermuda Bay CS.

MY DIGITAL STUDIO IS HERE!!!

IT IS HERE!  IT IS HERE!  My Digital Studio, by Stampin' Up!, was released to demonstrators on Sept. 1st, and will be avaliable to customers on Oct. 1st. This gives us a chance to read the tutorials and play with the program and be able to answer all your questions on Oct. 1st !! :)

I am HOOKED on this program. I LOVE IT!!  I received my UPS shipment this afternoon, loaded the program onto my laptop tonight, and have been playing ever since!  Ooooooo....you are just going to LOVE this!

This is my first page.  And, I created it all on my laptop with My Digital Studio [MDS].  I decided to go freestyle with a Photo Template and create my own page from there.  Oh my, too much fun!  Tomorrow I am going to use one of the many scrapbook templates that is provided on MDS to create a FULL SCRAPBOOK in minutes.  All I will have to do is the "drag and drop" feature with my photos and added text... WAY TOOOOO EASY! and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH FUN! :)  I can not wait to play more.

Check back soon for more pages!!!

If you are interested in purchasing this program on Oct. 1st, just let me know and I'll be sure to send you a reminder in a couple weeks. Check pages 38 and 39 in your Holiday Mini Catalog for more details.  And if you don't have a Mini Catalog, please contact me at julietupper@gmail.com!  I would be happy to send you one for free!

So Saffron DSP Build-A-Flower Card

This card is surprisingly easy to do. Give it a try!

2. Round the edges with the Corner Rounder Punch.
3. Decide which pattern you would like on the inside/outside.
4. Die-cut Real Red & Crushed Curry flowers with the Big Shot & Build-A-Flower Bigz Die. Layer from bottom to top [Cutting Pad, Bigz Die, two colors of CS & Cutting Pad] and then roll through the Big Shot.
5. SNAIL your flower together. Use the 3/16” punch on the side of the Cropodile to punch a hole in the middle. Push Jumbo Eyelet through. Crimp with the Cropodile.
6. Wrap 15” of the ¼”Grosgrain Ribbon- Real Red around the card. Push ends of ribbon through the Jumbo Eyelet Flower and tie a knot. Trim edges of ribbon. Add two Stampin’ Dimensionals underneath flower for stability.

Two Step Stamping - Dusty Durango Rose Friendship Card

I am a sucker for roses! I just love them. The way they smell. The different colors. Ooooo....I just love them! So, when SU! announced that it was retiring their "Wild Rose" set, I was so so so sad.....BUT, they must have known that I NEEDED a current rose set, and when the new catalog came out....VOILA....the "A Rose Is A Rose" set was there! Yippee! This set is just perfect! I love the Two-Step Stamping Technique and really enjoy showing it with this fabulous bunch of stamps. Thank you Stampin' Up!

I admit that yellow roses are my favorite, but to this day, I have yet to stamp a card with yellow roses.....that will need to change pronto! At any rate, when I saw the new In Colors, I HAD to try the Dusty Durango Ink with Pumpkin Pie. It is such a fabulous combonation. What do you think????

1. Fold your Old Olive CS in half and crease with the Bone Folder.
2. SNAIL Dusty Durango CS onto the gift card.
3. Stamp the following using 5 different stamps and the demo as a guide for placement:
· “Lg. Bold Rose” – Pumpkin Pie Ink
· “Lg. Rose Highlights” – Dusty Durango Ink
· “Bold Leaf” – Old Olive Ink
· “Leaf Highlights” – Garden Green Ink
· “Leaf with stem” -- Old Olive Ink
4. Stamp “frame” in Basic Black Ink onto Old Olive CS.
5. Using Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to help guide the placement stamp “You’re a friend…” inside the frame. Cut out using Paper Snips and use two Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere over “Leaf with stem.”
6. Use 2-Way Glue Pen to lightly trace “friend.” Lay card in Powder Pal and sprinkle with the Fine Cosmo Glitter – Celery.

To place an order go to www.julietupper.stampinup.net .

Convention Fun

I am sorry to keep on this, but Convention was just sooooo much fun! I am sorting through photos and organizing them. I keep going back to my notes and pictures for all the fabulous ideas! Just when I think that I have gotten all the ideas created on my stampin' table, I find MORE!
Part of my awesome time in SLC, Utah was meeting and hanging out with [though not as much as I would have liked] three special ladies! I finally got to meet Amy Johnson, my upline's upline [my 2nd upline???] and close friend. She is one of those fabulous demonstrators that sends out downline monthly newsletters loaded with helpful tips, ideas and information. I was so excited to finally meet her! Another wonderful lady I got to know a bit more was Brandi Barnard. Isn't she just the cutest! Love her! I got to hang out with her at Kristi's Demonstrator Event 2009 when Brandi was the guest speaker and was so excited to see her again at Convention! And then there is Kristi Stoughton, my upline and friend, who I adore. Thank you, Kristi, for being a wonderful friend and teacher! It was so much fun to hang out a bit more than usual!
It was a privilage to hang out with these fabulous ladies! I am so blessed to have found some great new friends!
