Happy Bearthday -- How Cute Is She?

The 2009 Holiday Mini Catalog has so many fabulous new items and the Build-A-Bear Collection is one!  Oh...so...CUTE!  Check out this sweet card I made with the Beary Best Friends stamp set.

Instructions:
1. Adhere 2” So Saffron DSP ½” from the bottom of Kraft gift card. Punch two holes at either side of small DSP strip, add Silver brads, then adhere above the large piece of DSP.
2. Punch a 3/16” hole ½” in and down on the right side under the small DSP strip. Tie Close To Cocoa Polka-dot Grosgrain Ribbon around front of card. [Ask for tips on how to tie a “stay-put” bow.]
3. Pierce row of holes above DSP using paper-piercing tool.
4. Stamp girl bear image in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper. Watercolor image using Stampin’ Write Markers and Aquapainter. [Tip: Use the Aquapainter to slightly wet the Watercolor Paper where you want to apply the color. Take your marker and apply small amount of color around the edges. Use the Aquapainter to blend the color inward. Add more ink as needed.] Rich Razzleberry = dress, flower; Soft Suede = arms, legs, head; Mellow Moss = ground; Going Gray = shoes; and, So Saffron = balloon
5. Round corners of watercolor paper using Corner Rounder punch and adhere to card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
6. Stamp "Happy Bearthday" in Jet Black StazOn ink on DSP underneath girl bear.

Brag Book Album - In Memorium

The Manhattan Flowers stamp set coupled with a saying from the Refuge and Strength stamp set are what I used to make this Brag Book Album.  I have posted brag books before, so Click Here to view them. if you want to see some different designs and directions.

If you are wondering what I put inside this one, it is full of pictures of someone dear to my family...Great Grandma Emily.  She was my husband's "adopted Canadian grandmother" and she passed away recently after living a wonderful life.  Long story short, but she and her husband ended up being just like grandparents to Erik while he was attending high school at Grenville Christian College.  Hence, she was given a special coursage and escorted down the aisle to a special seat at our wedding over eight years ago; we had the chance to visit with her and introduce her to our children on two seperate occassions in Canada; and, today we celebrate her life in memorial.  I didn't know her for too long, but she was a dear woman and I am sure she is in Heaven with the Lord today!

O.K., at any rate, Erik is off to the memorial today and asked me to pull together some pictures of our Canada trips for Emily's children.  So, that is why I made the Brag Books.  I hope they speak comfort to her family.  It was a blessing to know her!

MY DIGITAL STUDIO IS HERE!!!

IT IS HERE!  IT IS HERE!  My Digital Studio, by Stampin' Up!, was released to demonstrators on Sept. 1st, and will be avaliable to customers on Oct. 1st. This gives us a chance to read the tutorials and play with the program and be able to answer all your questions on Oct. 1st !! :)

I am HOOKED on this program. I LOVE IT!!  I received my UPS shipment this afternoon, loaded the program onto my laptop tonight, and have been playing ever since!  Ooooooo....you are just going to LOVE this!

This is my first page.  And, I created it all on my laptop with My Digital Studio [MDS].  I decided to go freestyle with a Photo Template and create my own page from there.  Oh my, too much fun!  Tomorrow I am going to use one of the many scrapbook templates that is provided on MDS to create a FULL SCRAPBOOK in minutes.  All I will have to do is the "drag and drop" feature with my photos and added text... WAY TOOOOO EASY! and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY TOO MUCH FUN! :)  I can not wait to play more.

Check back soon for more pages!!!

If you are interested in purchasing this program on Oct. 1st, just let me know and I'll be sure to send you a reminder in a couple weeks. Check pages 38 and 39 in your Holiday Mini Catalog for more details.  And if you don't have a Mini Catalog, please contact me at julietupper@gmail.com!  I would be happy to send you one for free!

SAB 3x6" Die-cut DSP Card - Congrats Tutorial

Another SAB creation that I thought you might like. If you don't have these sets or papers, just use the layout and other stamp sets! This card is 3x6" on Stampin' Up!s Textured Sahara Sand CS. FABULOUS! It also utilizes the Big Shot [my favorite tool, right now, next to the punches] with the "Flower Burst" Embosslit and "Little Leaves" Sizzlit. I absolutely adore these two little dies. So stinkin' cute!!!

I also used the sponging technique with the "negative" from the Little Leaves die-cut to decorate the background of the left front and bottom right of the inside of the card. Use the Stampin' Sponges and Certainly Celery Ink. Super easy and very fun!

Sale-A-Bration Aftermath

HAPPY SPRING! It is here. The birds are chirping and eating my bird feeder empty every three days. The stream out back is full and running. The crocuses are peeking out from the ground! We had a 61 degree sunny afternoon yesterday that willed us to be outside without coats, hats and mittens, and the kids and I actually did some planting! We went for an after dinner walk to view the pond and visit the farm up in back of us. It was a lovely day! And with all of that, believe it or not, we STILL have some snow on our property! I hope it melts soon so we can clean up from the winter ice storm. We have sticks, trees and branches everywhere!

So Sale-A-Bration is officially over, but I wanted to show this lovely card that was sent to me by a super talented friend, Kristi. Thanks, Kristi!

She made this using all SAB materials and I thought you might want the idea for all those fabulous goodies you accumilated during SAB this year! Kristi also loves doing fabulous, quick and easy cards. She is an inspiration! Check it out!

Handmade Gifting - Journal & Bookmark

Handmade gifts are the best! What better way to tell someone you care then to make them a journal and write a letter in the first page? That way they always know how you feel. I have two best girl friends. You know the kind that go through everything with you and still like you! The kind that you can call in the middle of the night and cry with. I have two! I am very blessed to know them both. Love you E & J!
One recently had a birthday and I made these items for her. She LOVED them! Pink....is all her color. Not to give it all away or anything, but I bought a "science" journal [you know the one they had you buy for Chemistry in high school?] at the dollar store and then covered it with Designer Series Paper. I adhered Stampin' Up!s fabulous 1-1/4" Striped Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon to the binding, added some die-cut adhesives from the retired Simply Scrappin' Kit - Rose Cottage, and then stamped a Monogram J [also, retired] and clear embossed it. Voila! Done!

I also made her this super fabulous bookmark! I take NO credit for the idea or design. [Stampin' Up! did this idea at Convention this year. VIEW HERE] But, the colors are all mine :-) Of course, Rose Red to go with the pink theme. I love this bookmark, because it flops over the outside of your book or SU! catalog and the Filigree Brad at the bottom pokes out the end. So pretty!

Here are the details on how to make your own bookmark. Feel free to comment!

INSTRUCTIONS
*Pop out the square in the middle of the scalloped On Board Square and set it aside. Ink both sides of the chipboard with Regal Rose Ink. [This can be messy, so you might want to find a wipe first to clean your hands after.] Set aside to dry.
*Layer Sweet Always DSP onto Pumpkin Pie CS.
*Stamp the “flower” image onto Whisper White CS by first inking in Rose Red ink and then coloring the middle with the Chocolate Chip Marker. Cut out with Paper Snips.
*Adhere the layered DSP onto the front of the On Board Scalloped Square with SNAIL. Turn over and adhere four strips of Sticky Tape inside of the open square onto the back of the Pumpkin Pie CS. Adhere ribbon on Sticky Tape inside the square leaving a small space near the top. Apply more Sticky Tape on top of the ribbon and adhere the On Board Square inside, as best you can. Adhere Pumpkin Pie CS with A LOT OF SNAIL on top of the ON BOARD square and ribbon to cover back.
*Fold the bottom of the ribbon in half lengthwise and cut a “V.” Place Filigree Flower and Brad at the bottom.
*Adhere cut flower to the front of your bookmark with a Dimensional on each petal and in the middle. Apply a small amount of Crystal Effects to the middle of the flower only for now. [Be careful this comes out fast!]. Hold your bookmark over the Powder Pals and sprinkle with Micro Beads. [Be careful they bounce!] Apply Crystal Effects to the rest of the flower and over the Micro Beads for a “shellacked” look. Set aside to dry. [This could take a half hour or more depending on the amount of CE you applied.]

Samples from last years Big Christmas Stamp-A-Stack

This year's BIG CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK is just around the corner on Saturday, November 15th! Email me if you want to register. The cost for ten different ideas is $20!
This is one of the cards we made last year! If you like this style and want to use a different tree, for instance from the current "Snow Swirled" or "Lovely As A Tree" stamp sets, we used the stamp off technique to get the two shades of trees. Simply stamp your tree twice before re-inking!

Spring Song Scalloped Card -- BIG SHOT!

Soooo, I've been playing with the new Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. OH MY WORD! So slick, quick and easy! It is a blast to use and very simple. You have GOT to try this! You will fall in love with it! Give me a call to set up your demonstration and time to play with the Big Shot.

I used page 102 in the 2008 Stampin' Up! Fall & Winter Catalog to give me inspiration for this card. I changed the layout a bit and used the scallop instead of the circle. I just love the softeness of the So Saffron cardstock, Designer Series Paper and Poly-twill Ribbon combined with the big die-cut Scallop.

Enjoy!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you stampin' moms! Hope you had a great day!

Well, I loved that Clear Envelope Brag Book I made a while back so much that I just had to make one for my mother and mother-in-law to celebrate this day with them. This is what I came up with! Erik and I wrote personal notes on the back inside cover to our moms. We then sat down with them and chose recent favorite pictures of family to put inside. They LOVED them!

A Light Unto My Path

Hi Stampers -- Well the demonstrator Boho West Event 2008 that I attended on Saturday was fabulous! I met a great bunch of fellow demonstrators and got all jazzed up with new ideas and techniques. Thank you to all who said a prayer for me with the little Power Tip that I did. The butterflies in my stomache stayed in control and I didn't do or say anything embarrassing... PHEW!

I ended up spending the entire night last Friday making roughly 50 swaps to trade with others, and I came home with some of the most fabulous color combos and layout ideas! Thank you to those who shared their talents!
Here is the swap that I made. I used one of my FAVORITE new sets...A Light Unto My Path. I have a thing for lighthouses. So serene and peaceful. It must come from growing up in Maine near the ocean and Portland Head Light. I just LOVE to visit there. The waves. The rocks. The history. But, I digress......
This card is beautiful, yet quick and easy! Enjoy!
