Big Shot Scalloped Envelope Cards

These cute little 3"x 2" cards fit perfectly into the Scalloped Envelope cut with the exclusive Bigz Scalloped Envelope Die by Stampin' Up! I used the Maine Blueberry Designer Series Paper [DSP] for the envelope and strips on the gift cards. The Big Shot combined with some punches, the Curly and Cute Stamp Set and the Lovely Labels Stamp Set makes it so fast and easy to make them! A great little gift or a quick and easy way to adorn a gift!

Scalloped Envelope Big Shot Box

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new BIG SHOT MACHINE! Especially, Stampin' Ups! exclusive dies. This project uses the brand new Scalloped Envelope Bigz Die and is the template for the lovely scalloped top. Just die-cut four of them in the color of your choosing, fold on the score lines and adhere together using Sticky Tape! [I found the idea for this CUTE little box on http://www.spiltcoaststampers.com/ and adapted it to my tastes. What do you think? The idea came from Whoopsie Daisy and also Tara Kieninger. Check out their creations by clicking each name.]

I just LOVE that site and use tons of ideas from there. Now you know one of my secrets...shhh...don't tell ;-).....

I changed the top a bit by making a Scalloped Tab to close it. How? The DSP comes with a 12 x 12 card board backing. I SNAILed my DSP to that and then punched it out with the Scalloped Circle Punch! Then, I used my Paper Snips to cut a slit just to the center of each scallop. Wrapping the Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon around the bottom of the box, I then attached the ribbon to the underside of each scallop. Adhere your bow slightly above the slit and then put your scallops together to have the appearance of one scallop ! Done!

Free Standing Pop Up Card

This card LOOKS complicated, but it really is not. I take absolutely no credit for this idea or even the design as I cased it from Mary Jo. She is one of the fabulous stampers who does tutorials for SplitCoastStampers.com. She has given some fabulous instructions on how to make this "Free Standing Pop Up Card." Check it out here.

What I love best about this card is the way it folds down and fits nicely in a Medium sized envelope. What a treat to have this come in the mail! I sent mine to a friend who makes others smile. :-) She is an inspiration!

Morning Soft Scalloped Die-cut Card

I just love this beautiful set! It is called Morning Soft. PERFECT for watercoloring with the Watercolor Crayons and Aquapainter!! I used the BIG SHOT Die-Cute Machine to die-cut the Scalloped Envelope Bigz Die and adhered the note card to my gift card base. I flipped the enclosure and highlighted the scoring marks with the White UniBal Gel Pen. This card looks fancy, but the hardest part is just cutting out the flower! And even that is a synch with the Paper Snips!

Finally Satisfied vs. Inspiration

I am the type of person who tinkers with things until they are just right, if you haven't already figured that out about me! ;-) I fiddle with my hair, my clothes, my kitchen, my CARDS, my SCRAPBOOKING, my organizing, my BLOG....etc. until they are just so. And, if I am not satisfied, I tend to not share until it is just so. I go through stages of creativity, as I am sure you do, were everything I love the things I am creating and stages where I feel I can't come up with a single thing. I have a type A personality. Man can I be picky! Thankfully, I have my wonderful husband who encourages me and helps me judge my creations. Lately, I have been in one of those places...so please forgive the lack of posting.

As you may have noticed, I have been tinkering with my Blog layout and colors since I started it. I am so relieved to say that I am finally satisfied with it's appearance. My family was in Maine visiting my parents over the weekend. We took a walk at one of my favorite spots...Mackworth Island in Falmouth. [Stay with me here...this is going somewhere.] It is just so serene, beautiful and full of nature, yet not out of the way to get to at all. I love the nature walk, the ocean, the rock climbing and then at the end we always take the kids to the playground in the center of the island. It is FABULOUS! The playground is located at the Baxter School for the Deaf, which resides on the island. The school had planted a garden full of pumpkins, tomatoes, carrots and SUNFLOWERS! [See where I am going?] I got to taking a bunch of pictures of those sunflowers and blue, blue sky and VOILA....inspiration! [Yes, the picture at the top with my title is one I took.] I couldn't wait to get home to tinker yet again with my blog layout. I have to say I am so glad that inspiration hit and I can finally be satisfied with how it looks! I hope you like the new layout and colors.

Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment!

Now to take the inspiration to my crafting.....sooooo exciting! I hope to post something for you soon!
