Belated Valentine

I know it is late to show you this project, but I wanted to anyway. :-) I made this super cute Valentine for the kids in my daughter's kindergarten class. [Yes, they were on time. My post just wasn't.] She helped! We had such fun using the Big Shot, punching the hearts out, and stamping the little birds. Very easy to do.
Tip: Just put the crease of your cardstock a little below the top of the Top Note die and crank away. You will end up with a fancy shaped card. Woohoo!

Love YOU Much

I am enjoying the Love You Much Stamp Set immensely! Here is another creation using it. This card uses the Stampin' Pastels to color on the Basic Black CS.

Chalking -- Poppin' Pastels Directions:
1) Stamp the image with a White or Vanilla Craft Stampin' Pad. You may also use a VersaMark ink pad.
2) Use sponge daubers or stamping sponges to apply the pastel color directly to the ink.
3) Blow off any excess pastel powder or use a tissue to wipe. (Repeat process if using this technique with a Two-Step Stampin' set).

Project Supplies:
  • Love You Much Stamp Set
  • Pink Passion CS
  • Basic Black CS
  • Whisper White Craft Ink
  • Stampin' Pastels
  • Sponge Daubers
  • Whisper White Tafetta Ribbon
  • UniBal SINGO White Gel Pen

Bella's Bloom

Bella's Bloom is a wonderful little stamp set that I totally overlooked in the last catalog. I think it is just darling.

This card is on page 83 of the NEW catalog. I just love using the catalogs as a resource for ideas. Check it out! And, if you want to know the ingredients for any of the items in the catalog CLICK HERE and scroll for the page for which you are looking.

I modified this card a little bit, but not too much. Love the colors!!!! As you can tell, I am on a Chocolate/Brown kick right now. I love using Stampin' Up!'s punches and this card utilizes three fabulous ones: Wide Oval, Designer Label & Scalloped Edge Punches.

Tutorial - How to use a Background Stamp

Using Background Stamps is a wonderful way to enhance your stamping and create fancy looking backgrounds with ease. But be careful....once you start using them, there is no turning back with your creativity!

1] With the background stamp face up, ink the stamp completely by tapping the ink pad on the rubber.
2] Place the background stamp face up on your stamping surface.
3] Place the card stock on the inked stamp.
4] If the card stock is smaller than the stamp, cover the card stock with a piece of scratch paper.
5] Rub the card stock with smooth, firm strokes, making sure to rub all areas of the stamp and to keep the card stock from sliding.
6] Remove the scratch paper and carefully lift the card stock off the stamp.

QUICK TIP: Create a multicolored background by applying two or more inks to the background stamp.

Spring Song Birthday Card

Currently, I am trying to distract myself from the business and sadness of this week. So, I am blogging another creation. Hope you enjoy it!
This one is easy to do and uses one of my favorite techniques....watercoloring with the Watercolor Wonder Crayons! I just love the warmth of this card, which can be used for so many things if you change the greeting.

Tip: Make sure to use a permenant ink [like Stampin' Up!s Basic Brown, Black or Gray] for the outline of the bird, so that your ink doesn't run when you watercolor.

Project Supplies:
  • Spring Song Stamp Set
  • Bitty Birthday Stamp Set
  • Floral Background Stamp
  • Close To Cocoa CS
  • Chocolate Chip CS
  • Whisper White CS
  • Basic Brown Ink
  • Aquapainter
  • Watercolor Wonder Crayons - Earth Elements
  • 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - Chocolate Chip
  • Cutter Kit
See my next post for a tutorial on USING BACKGROUND STAMPS.

Top Note Love You Much Bird Card

Don't ask me why, but in the midst of everything going on I decided it was high time I invested in on of those All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Photo/Copier machines. Soooo, I was playing with it after setting it up and scanned in some creations. I am so excited! This is going to take no time to scan, crop and blog for you! Sooooo excited! Woohoo!

For this card, I used the Love You Much Bundle [Candy Lane DSP, Heart To Heart Punch and Love You Much Stamp Set] to create it in conjunction with the Top Note Die and the Big Shot [can't get enough of that!]. The birds are actually on the DSP and I die-cut them! How simple and easy! Add a little ribbon, stamp and punch a few hearts, and VOILA! ... A fabulous card to send off to your loved one!

Sale-A-Bration!

O.K., so things have gotten uber -crazy around my house within the past week! It is unbelievable, and, I apologize, but no photos were taken of new projects for you. Please be patient with me. I have some fantastic new things to show you, but...... with two sick kids, my father-in-law passing away, funeral arrangements, family flying in from all over the states to different airports on different days, several leaks in my roof from an ice dam and then just regular old life, I have been a bit stressed and preoccupied. PRAYER IS DEFINATELY APPRECIATED!!!

I will be back up and running hopefully before Valentine's Day!

In the meantime, check out my website at www.julietupper.stampinup.net to get all the details on Sale-A-Bration. This is the SALE of the year for Stampin' Up! and you do not want to miss out!

And, place an online order with me and receive a FREE catalog [dates on my website...I can't think of them right now....please forgive my scattered brain!]!
